My mom made something I can’t spell. It sounded like hottingokaka. Does anyone know what that is? She used the square cut kjevle for it.
Hei Linda, I am a bit unsure what that can be… What did the cake look like? And do you know any of the ingredients?
Thats what our family called it also, but our recipe has yeast in it. Im not finding any recipe with that name. Our pin looks like the square cut kjevle but the lines are farther apart but with the same cut on them. Im trying to find out what region in Norway the Hottingkaka came from.
Hi Susan, I think perhaps what you are looking for is “honningkake”.. honey cake. Could that be? I’m not sure what region in Norway it comes from, but it was/is often baked for Christmas.
