Heimskringla: The Lives of the Norse Kings – Snorre Sturlason

Of all the Old Norse King’s sagas, Heimskringla is the best known. It was written by the Icelandic poet and history writer Snorre Sturlason around the year 1230.

In Heimskringla you find a collection of the old sagas (stories) about Swedish and Norwegian Viking kings. From the early Yngling dynasty, to famous Norwegian rulers such as Harald Hårfagre (The Hairfare) and Harald Hardråde (The Ruthless), who died at the battle of Stamford bridge in 1066.
